Taste Of Some Greatest Juice

How many full days of tasting would be just good enough for you? I would say Two days on 6-7 November 2013 were not too quite enough to most.

It was the Decanter Tasting “The Fine Wine Encounter” in London and I was happily tipsy re-tasting some fabulous wines and experiencing some of the fabulous new ones as well.

Despite London is probably not the hometown of the world’s best wineries, I bumped into quite a few well-known wine makers at the venue:  such as Fabrice Bacquey whom completed his first vintage at Chateau Phelan Segur in 1997; Vincent Millet whom joined Calon Segur from Château Margaux in 2006;The Muga family from Bodegas Muga and so many more from different Domaines.

How cool to catchup with Steven Spurrier again after our dinner at Château Smith Haut Lafitte in the Pessac-Léognan this summer. It’s definitively inspiring how focus Steven is re-tasting wine till the end of day. We were saying we will meet again at The Grand Tasting in Paris again in 2 weeks time. Always a great learning time with steven indeed.

Icewine is always Painful but so delicious. Imagine picking grapes at -10degree when everyone
is sleeping. The Peller’s Cabernet Franc Ice wine was so explosive, with complex spices and lime freshness.
